JFokus 2009

Today the good people organizing the JFokus conference confirmed that we’ve been accepted as speakers for JFokus 2009. The conference is divided into one university day and one conference day, and will take place in Stockholm on the 27-28 of january. It’s got quite an impressive lineup of speakers (especially now that we’re in it!), so don’t hesitate to go there if you get the chance.

So, just when we thought we’d finally have time for some R&R after Øredev, we’ll have to start implementing some new cool effects for our presentation. We can’t really complain though, we love what we’re doing, and talking at these conferences is a real blast. Expect to see all the goodies from Øredev, and then some!

Looking forward to see you there!

Thanks!

Thanks to all of you who attended our lightning talk at Øredev, and to those who stopped by afterwards to talk! We received a lot of encouraging comments, and it seems our presentation was well received. Now we’re really looking forward to our next talk, wherever that might be. We have a lot of new ideas we’d like to try out, and after the positive feedback we received, we definitely have all the energy we need to implement them :-)

Øredev is upon us

Today it’s finally time for our lightning talk at Øredev, where we’ll be showing a short demo of Feedjii. Like we’ve said before, it’s at 13:10 in the exhibition hall, don’t miss it! You can also stop by the Epsilon booth and have a chat with us if you’d like.

See you there!

We’ve been working really hard on this application and finally we have something that just might be a 0.1 release. The source code needs refactoring and some cleanup before it’s open sources but in the meantime we’ll post a screenshot and soon ther will be a jnlp link to the application.Enjoy

Øredev

We are gonna talk at Øredev this week so if you are going there and are interested in Swing then stop by and listen. It’s a lightning talk on November 20, 13:10. Short summary:

Swing Rocks – Pär Sikö & Martin Gunnarsson, Epsilon IT

Java GUIs used to be slow and ugly but that’s history. In this presentation we’ll show you the power of Java graphics and what an application should look like.

See you there

Not enough time

and that’s why the previous series about dynamic background is delayed. But the good thing is that we’re working on another really cool application that we think you might enjoy. It’s a feed reader with an awesome ui. Written in pure Swing, no native code, no images just plain old Swing and Graphics2D. I think we should post a screenshot so you know what it looks like.
